Since I put off filing for alimony because of the expenses a lawyer might cost me, he now only helps my children out a bit and doesn't contribute anything to the household bills.
After being cut-back by my employer, I actively began looking for more work, which I now thankfully have. But in the time that my hours were cut, I lost enough money that we were not able to pay our rent in January of this year. Now, my children and I are facing eviction.
I'm afraid that if I don't pay this past due rent soon, my children and I will end up on the street or living out of my car. I would be even more likely to lose both my job and my children, and I really don't want my kids in an abusive household. More than anything else, this is the reason I'm here to ask for Modest Needs' help to catch up on the one month of rent I'm behind.
My family and I are now at a new starting point, and I would be ever so grateful if Modest Needs could help keep my family together. On the $700.00 I receive from Social Security each month, I would never be able to afford this expense, but with the help of local organizations who are willing to do some work for free and Modest Needs' help to buy materials, it can be done.
If I can't get around on my own, in and out of my home, the state will put me in a nursing home. I fear this because I am still young and can still do much for myself. Currently it takes two people to get me in and out of the house. With this ramp, I could go outside when I please, without forcing others to help me. More importantly, I could continue living independently.

So right now, I'm faced with a choice between having surgery that will do much to fix my back, or smiling and eating properly. I would prefer not to have to make this choice, so I'm asking Modest Needs for help to afford a simple set of dentures I can wear once these extractions are complete.
I'm already afraid of this back surgery, and it's even worse to think about not being able to smile after its over. Having a new smile would make me feel somewhat human again and keep me from choosing between my health and my smile. Thank you for reading about me, and I thank you all so much.
